Bonding system

HT-K is a revolutionary bonding system that joins, by means of an exclusive additive thermo-polymer bead, all the pieces of the panel. The result is an extremely resistant and ductile panel, which blends perfectly with the surface and guarantees unequalled long-term results and great savings in time and costs, both in installation and repairs.

Installation is very fast, as it can be easily cut with a cutter and allows for outdoor storage. Combined with the right bonding and grouting materials, HTK is the only system that prevents tiles from becoming detached over time, guaranteeing an unalterable result.

how to lay HT-K stoneware from Hisbalit?

Preliminary preparation of the surface

To achieve good adhesion to the substrate, it must be completely free of dust, grease, paint, efflorescence, grout, plaster residue, or any other substance that may impair the adhesion of the mosaic.

The ideal substrate is a fine render with water-repellent mortar. Both vertical surfaces and floors must be perfectly leveled and smoothed.

It is advisable to use a specific tile adhesive cement for zero absorption products, with mixed and deformable binders. We recommend adhesive cements that comply with EN 12004 and EN 12002 C2TES1 standards.

Installation instructions

1. Spread with a notched trowel a layer of tile adhesive cement 2 to 3 mm thick.
2. Place the gresite slabs Hisbalit on the tile adhesive cement, aligning them and making sure that the distance between them is 2 mm so that all the joints are equal.
3. Tap with a rubber or wooden trowel to penetrate the tile adhesive cement layer.
4. Once the tile adhesive cement is dry, fill the joints with a trowel and special cement for joints.
5. Remove the remains with window cleaning rubber.
6. Clean with a damp sponge.
7. Finish cleaning with a dry cloth.

Grouting

We recommend a cementitious-based grout for fine joints, without aggregate, deformable, water-repellent and stain-resistant that complies with the UNE-EN 13888 CG2W standard. All glue manufacturers also have a range of colored grouts.

Before grouting these finishes, it is advisable to use a damp sponge to fill these porosities or to cool the surface, without causing water to puddle in the joints.

Cutting and finishing

The following tools can be used to cut mosaic pieces:

- Vidia pliers: this is the traditional tool. It is recommended for cutting small pieces or curved edges.
- Radial or grinder: low power and speed selector. The cut is made with a 115 mm glass cutting disc. It is recommended for cuts over 1 cm and without angles.
